Green Building and Water Conservation – Yes!
Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 01/11/2004

Document Format: PDF

Description

Integrated “green” building and landscape designs, which typically incorporate sustainable water use (i.e., conservation) practices and technologies, are gaining increasing acceptance by architects, engineers, builders, and landscape designers, not to mention green vendors who now see viable markets for their products. For example, the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED£) Green Building Rating System includes criteria for water credits, or sustainable water use practices. Hundreds of LEED£-certified sites are now in operation in the U.S., and many more are planned. This slide presentation outlines current standards, practices, and case studies of green building projects that incorporate sustainable, water-conserving features.
