Description
Integrated water resource management with focuson water reclamation has been a vital component of Phoenix area utilitieswater resource portfolios for a number of years. This paper presents Peoria’splanning and design of a new state-of-the-art water reclamation facility(Butler Drive WRF) using membrane bioreactor (MBR) technology. Since the City’s overall waterresource management strategy will include a significant relianceon reclaimed water, a feasibility study was undertaken toconsider water reclamation for the Southern Planning Area. Elements of the study are discussed in the paper along with site selection, technology selection, equipment procurement, and design considerations. Includes table, figures.
