This paper identifies theregulatory background for approving alternate filtration technologies, andcritical issues involved in performing technology reviews. Also presented are anoverview of individual alternative technology approaches that have been proposedin Washington State, including bag filters, cartridge filters, and low-pressuremembranes, and some case-specific issues that have been identified.
