Description
As California flourishes economically (equivalent to the world’s seventh largestnation) and industry grows at a solid pace, water, the lifeline of thedevelopment, continues to be a very precious commodity. A major resource forindustry is imported water but its ever-increasing costs are leading toalternative methods for water supplies. This paper discusses how membranetechnology and the Design/ Build project delivery approach are helping relievewater shortages by developing new water supply sources from wastewater effluent insouthern California. It shows the many advantages of using the combination ofmembrane technology and design/build to develop high quality water sources forindustrial water uses. Includes reference, figures.
