Description
Water supplies systems with dependable flows and full regulation capabilities offer attractive opportunities for hydropower development. Systematic evaluation of existing facilities can identify the sites where proven hydropower technology can be applied and longterm energy benefits provided as a byproduct of water supply. Tube turbines, rim-generator turbines, bulb turbines, conventional reaction turbines, and generators are described and project implementation is discussed. Includes tables, figure, photographs.
