This paper provides a brief overview of available Nanofiltration (NF)/Reverse Osmosis (RO) post-treatment options, which when properlyemployed can achieve finished water quality that mitigates many potential adverse effects in thedistribution system. Topics covered include: blending multiple source waters; membrane post treatment considerations; relative risk of water quality event(s) in a distribution systemimpacting a utility’s compliance with regulations; and, probability and degree of risk identification by parameter-related events.
