Description
This paper reviews the technologies available to water utilities for automatic meter reading, including a simple explanation of the principles and concepts of AMR and an analysis of existing and emerging technologies. As with most information technologies, the AMR marketplace is rapidly evolving. New systems, vendors and products are being introduced constantly. New business alliances between manufacturers, more inter-operability between components, and the introduction of standards are creating more choices.
