Effects of Bromide and Natural Organic Matter on the Formation of Ozonation By-Products
Conference Proceeding by American Water Works Association, 01/01/1994

Document Format: PDF

Description

The objective of this bench scale study was to evaluate the effects of bromide and natural organic matter (expressed as TOC) on the formation of ozonation byproducts. A 5×5 TOC x Bromide experimental matrix was constructed for this study by spiking natural water with various doses of bromide and TOC. The bromide and TOC concentration ranges used covered the concentration levels present in a wide range of US waters. Each water sample, containing a unique pair of bromide and TOC concentrations, was ozonated and analyzed for several organic ozonation byproducts and bromate.
