Description
This paper presents a discussion of the recently adopted federal efficiency standards for clothes washers and state initiatives to include water savings in the standards for coin-operated or commercial clothes washers. California’s Energy Commission proceedings on standards is also discussed. This includes a report on California’s legislative efforts, in response to the energy crisis, to provide incentives for water efficient clothes washers. Includes 6 references, tables.
