This article discusses the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA’s) WaterSense® Program, including the 2009 WaterSense Partners of the Year: Cobb County Water System, Marietta, Georgia, and James City Service Authority,Williamsburg, Virginia (promotional partners);Kohler Co., Kohler, Wisconsin (manufacturer partner);Lowe’s Companies Inc., Wilkesboro, North Carolina (retail/distributor partner); and,Brian Vinchesi, president of Irrigation Consulting Inc., Pepperell, Massachusetts (irrigationpartner). Criteria established by the USEPA to qualify for WaterSense Partner of the Year consists of: helping advance the overall missionof the WaterSense program;increasing awareness of the WaterSensebrand in a measurable way; and,demonstrating overall excellencein the water-efficiency arena.Partner of the Year awards are basedon activities that increase awareness ofwater efficiency and WaterSense-labeledproducts, but preference is given to partnerswho work together to achieve results.
