This powerpoint presentation begins by providing background information on studies done by the Irvine Ranch Wate District (IRWD) on evapotranspiration (ET) that have shown water savingsand runoff reduction benefits fromweather-based (ET) controllers. ET Data Protocol Project objectives include:provide quality, easily accessible ET data;2 Km<sup>2</sup> resolution state-wide;build on proven, existing technology;stakeholder involvement in development; and,transferability to other states. Potential long term benefits include:meter reading;customer leak detection;peaking control; and,emergency operations response. Benefits of the state-wide system are provided.
